A Model Y’s giant touchscreen shows every fingerprint, and kids love to touch it. We keep a Spigen EZ Slide screen cleaner in the armrest and use it two or three times a week. Here’s what it is, how it works in our 2026 Model Y, and the one thing we use it for that it probably wasn’t designed for.

What it is

Per Amazon’s listing, the EZ Slide is a two-part tool: a microfiber pad for fingerprints and smudges, and a soft bristle brush for dust. You use it without liquids. A protective lid keeps the pad clean when it’s stored, and it comes with a spare Velcro-lined pad so you can swap one out when the first gets dirty.

How we use it

It lives in the armrest tray, and we use it two or three times a week: a quick swipe of the pad across the screen when the fingerprints start to show, and the brush for dust. A cleaning tool you have to hunt for is one you don’t use, which is why it stays in the armrest.

The dash trick

We also run the brush over the dash. We’re not claiming that’s what it was designed for, but it works well for dust, and Amazon’s own listing mentions using the brush on car vents and other surfaces. Use a light touch and try a small spot first.

What Tesla says about cleaning the screen

It’s worth knowing Tesla’s own guidance before you grab just any cloth. Paraphrasing the owner’s manual:

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth made for cleaning monitors and displays.
  • Don’t use glass cleaner or alcohol-based products like hand sanitizer, and don’t use a wet wipe.
  • Avoid a statically charged cloth, such as a recently washed microfiber. If you wash the spare pad, don’t put it straight onto the screen.
  • To wipe without touching buttons by accident, turn on Screen Clean Mode: Controls > Display > Screen Clean Mode.

The EZ Slide is dry and uses no liquids, so it stays clear of the glass-cleaner and wet-wipe warnings.

What we don’t love

We haven’t found a downside. The honest limit is that we only use it for fingerprints and light dust. We haven’t tried it on sticky spills or heavy grime, so we can’t say how it handles those.

Who should buy it

Anyone who’s bothered by fingerprints on the big screen, especially parents, since kids are fingerprint machines. It’s also a good gift for a new Model Y owner.

Who shouldn’t

If you already keep a good display cloth in the car and reach for it, you don’t need this. The appeal is convenience: a pad and a brush in one case that lives in the armrest.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the best way to clean a Tesla Model Y screen?

Yes. We use it on our 2026 Model Y, and Amazon lists it for the Model Y 2025/26 (Juniper) along with other Tesla models.

Can you use it on other screens?

Amazon’s listing says it works on phones, tablets, laptops and other glass surfaces too. We only use ours in the car.

Where do you keep it?
